The wounded Brown took off his helmet to breathe, only to be confronted by LeClerk, who interrogated him at gunpoint and forced him to admit that he killed her husband, although he revealed that he thought that Philip was her brother. Brown then emerged in his iron suit, equipped with a shotgun, and attempted to take out the two attackers, but they were able to fell him with dynamite. However, Jessica LeClerk's associates, the Arizona Kid and Iron-Sights Jones, came to the Marshals' aid at the behest of Samuel Horley, and they stormed the fort after blasting open its gates and killing all of Brown's henchmen. Later that year, the US Marshals besieged Brown at Fort Mercer, but Brown donned a suit of armor inspired by the Australian bushranger Ned Kelly and had his henchmen fight off several attacks on the fort, even capturing the Marshals' two artillery pieces. He later became the leader of a gang which was based from Fort Mercer in New Mexico, and, in 1898, his sister, his brother-in-law Amos Lancing, and Jeremiah Shaw had him murder Philip LeClerk in Blackwater, Texas to aid Shaw in taking over LeClerk's business they also framed the Arizona Kid for the murder, leading to Arizona being sent to death row at the Sisika Penitentiary. Teddy Brown was born in 1861, the brother of Grace Brown, and he settled in the New Mexico Territory in the American Southwest, where he initially acquired a reputation as a "second rate, common no-good horse thief". He was ultimately taken down by the bounty hunters Iron-Sights Jones and the Arizona Kid before being executed by Jessica LeClerk.
